We are excited for the future and our continued growth! Our Data Intelligence Services (DIS) team is seeking talented individuals in the role of Data Specialist, Focused on Tax Services. This position will reside in our Cleveland, Ohio office with some travel to other office locations (less than 10%).

The Data Specialist, Focused on Tax Services, will be a member of the DIS team supporting each of the firm’s service lines and verticals with a concentrated focus on Tax initiatives. The DIS team, an integral part of our Technology Services organization, works closely with key internal and external stakeholders in analyzing, enhancing, and automating data workflows/processes.


  • Collaborate with other DIS and Technology Services team members and key business stakeholders to achieve business objectives
  • Design and develop analytical models, data models, business intelligence reports and related infrastructure to support client Finance, Sales, and Operation functions
  • Develop tools to assist in data manipulation, transformation, and automation using appropriate programming languages
  • Analyze product, market, and financial trends to help clients identify risks and opportunities for improvement
  • Translate business needs into technical specifications
  • Develop visual reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards using applicable software
  • Use data to generate reports and/or predictive models to support business performance monitoring and decision making
  • Maintain data analytics platforms, including troubleshooting and evaluating for improvement opportunities
  • Design, develop, test, and support integrations between data warehouse and source applications

Experience and Skills:

Core Competencies

  • General technical fluency/technology savvy (programming languages, data analytics, data visualization, and data process automation tools).
  • Developing an understanding of the business verticals and their different workflows and data ingestion/processing steps.
  • Experience leading and managing aspects of a project, ability to work with internal and external clients
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to learn and keep up to date with data automation, data visualization, analytical reporting, and predictive model development.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or similar field
  • Work experience: 1-3 years
  • System experience: MS Office


  • Keen sense of creative thinking, attention to detail and problem solving
  • Strong oral and written communications skills; able to adapt style and tone to effectively engage the audience
  • Good collaboration skills, applied successfully across the organization
  • Knowledge of the professional services industry and data analytical & automation applications
  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Organized and experienced at successfully multi-tasking
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Experience building and maintaining databases and data warehouses
  • Experience establishing and maintaining cloud hosting environments
  • Experience working with reporting and data visualization software
  • Experience building APIs to source systems and conducting ETL activities
  • Experience/Exposure to the following technologies/tools a plus:
    • Alteryx
    • Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau
    • R, Python, SQL JavaScript, Java, Ruby, or similar
    • Machine Learning/Predictive Analytics
