We are excited for the future and our continued growth! Our Technology Services team is again seeking talented individuals in the role of Security Analyst. This position will reside in our Ohio locations: Cleveland or Akron. There will be some travel to other office locations or for training (< 5%).

The Security Analyst will be a member of the security team assisting in developing, executing, auditing, monitoring, and maintaining security controls, defenses, and countermeasures to intercept and prevent attempts to infiltrate company systems and data. A key aspect of this role will be to monitor security tools and appliances to ensure appropriate items are managed and escalated quickly and appropriately.

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and review of Security Operations Center alerts, escalating those needing attention
  • Define, gather, and report on metrics related to security systems
  • Monitor security queue, escalating as appropriate
  • Manage and monitor internal phishing testing tools and metrics
  • Manage open items as identified by vulnerability scans, penetration tests, or tabletop exercises
  • Monitor endpoint detection & response (EDR) notifications and escalate as appropriate
  • Monitor secure access service edge (SASE) notifications and escalate as appropriate
  • Monitoring of software and firmware patches, working with the team to evaluate priority
  • Documentation and tracking of events and their status/escalation levels
  • Assist with regular review and updates to security policy and procedures
  • Assist in identifying potential security risks and informing security team
  • Assist with annual vendor audits and evaluations
  • Assist in response to security events identified
  • Assist in preparation of scheduled security reviews
  • Monitor systems for irregular behavior
  • Assist in planning, development, implementation of company’s information security strategy
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with all members of the team (Infrastructure, End User Technologies, DevOps, Development, Security)
  • Collaborate with other Technology Services team members and key business stakeholders to achieve business objectives
  • Must be able to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Experience and Skills:

Core Competencies

  • Knowledge of security events and severities.
  • Basic understanding of application security
  • Familiar with penetration testing
  • Familiar with proxies, commonly used ports, encryption technologies, networks and network traffic
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, firewalls, endpoint security tools, SIEM
  • Familiar with vulnerability management and terminology
  • Experience operating and maintaining security systems.
  • Knowledge of security systems including anti-virus, content filtering, firewalls, authentication, and intrusion detection
  • Knowledge of security protocols and principles
  • Experience with vendor management processes and tools
  • Experience with incident management and related processes/forensics
  • Experience with Azure Information Protection and DLP tools a plus
  • Time management, organization, and planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Understanding of the Infrastructure and Software Development Lifecycle

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 1+ years of experience as a Security Analyst or related position

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST or CIS
  • Knowledge related to processes and protocols related to SOC audits a plus
  • Keen sense of creative thinking, attention to detail and problem solving
  • Self-directed learner, with the ability to pick up new technologies on their own
  • Self-motivated with the ability to complete projects in a timely manner
  • Strong analytical ability, true problem solver
  • A solid understanding of professional service firms is a plus
  • Ability to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion
  • Strong communication skills
    • Ability to communicate well across the organization by:
      • Communicating work progress and issues within an agile team
      • Communicating pros and cons of technical solutions within and across teams
    • Can articulate business needs and translate them into technology solutions
